Children's Choirs provide an opportunity for music learning as well as musical expression in worship. There is singing, music games, use of instruments (including bell-plates), and learning about how music has come to us.

Each year, we take a group of older children to a state music camp near Lynchburg (Eagle Eyrie) for a great week of fun, excitement, and learning. This happens in July and we look forward to taking a bigger group next year!

There is a choir for all young ages from preschool age 4 through 5th grade. All groups meet on Wednesday night at 6:00 (right after family supper at 5:30). Feel free to contact me for more information (366-6631).

Melrose also provides weekly music time for the "aftercare" program. This exposes a large group of children to the benefits of music largely in a Christian setting. This occurs each Tuesday afternoon about 3:30.

CHILREN'S MUSICAL for 2010 A HIT!
It was based on a game show format ... with many verses from the Bible. Jeff Hezworthy was the host for the teams, and they all did great! View Windows Media clip:

CHILDREN BRINGS BACK CLASSIC FOR 2009 MUSICAL
Perhaps one of the most popular children's musicals of all time is "Down by the Creekbank." Our group presented it in fine fashion, and it all brought back great memories!

CHILDREN ENCOUNTER DARRELL WALTRIP IN SUMMER MUSICAL (2008)
In "Race to Win," our kids interacted with the famous racing star via DVD in a creative children's musical.
It had great meaning, and the kids had a wonderful time! In 2009 we are doing "Down By the Creekbank." Come join us!
